Lust of the Week: Fiesta Stole by Ellita

I just can't stop staring at this gorgeous stole on Etsy.com! I think it would look fabulous with my long black wool coat, and it would already be in the shopping cart if it had a matching hat like this one:

I might have to make a special request. They are just too gorgeous to resist.

Stole, $65. Hat, $45.

Lindsay Lohan to Expand her 6126 Leggings Into a Full Line

I don't know anyone who actually bought Lindsay Lohan's leggings, but she has taken the "success" of her $100+ leggings and decided to expand it into a full clothing line.

And the ads feature Lindsay on a stripper pole.

I know. I can't wait either.

I'll be sure to keep you posted on who exactly will be carrying this line. I'm assuming its going to be the local StripperWear Mart.

Vote For the Best Dressed of the Decade at Vogue.com

Vogue needs your help. They have selected some of the best looks throughout the decade and need you to go and cast your vote to tell them who did it the best. Vote once for each year at Vogue.com. Winners will be posted on January 25, and we'll be sure to tell you who took the top honors.

Please Don't Buy This

This skirt is an actual designer piece, and it's called the "Gizmo" skirt by Brian Lictenburg. I originally saw it on Luxist, and noted that the cost is a cool $2100. The backstory on this is that it is designed to resemble the Gizmo gremlin from the movie "Gremlins" back in the '80s.

I'm not kidding.

Listen, I have a deal for you. Give me $1000, and I'll take you shopping and find you a fabulous skirt for the remaining $1000. I can even make sure you have half that money in your pocket and a gorgeous skirt on your behind. Call me.

When I Grow Up

I want to be Queen Elizabeth. Just look at her!

When I am that age, you will see me in my red coat and my hat with a feather. And can we talk about those boots? I'm looking for that exact pair in brown.

Go on, Queen Bess.

A World of No

I love leggings just as much as the next girl, but I've been seeing a few fashion mistakes lately, and the majority of them are from my fellow over-30s who really should know better. Slashed punk-rock leggings, sequins, and lace just don't translate well. So I was inspired to throw together a small little display of some leggings you should avoid if you are in the over-30 crowd.

Don't consider it a fashion rule, just consider it a public service announcement. If they sell a similar look at your local Justice or Limited Too, please skip it.

Ben Sherman Gets Rid of Womens Wear to Survive

I'm horribly depressed by this one. Ben Sherman, maker of beautiful, modern mens and women's clothing, will cease manufacturing womenswear next year. Apparently it just isn't profitable to continue, and they will focus on the high quality menswear that they have been known for in the past.

Miles Gray, CEO Ben Sherman Group Ltd said: ‘We propose to concentrate on what we do best. We have a 50 year history in producing great Menswear with significant success internationally with leading store groups. We will also continue to open our own stores concentrating on our complete Menswear lifestyle offer.'

ChickDowntown.com Runs Into Financial Problems

It's tough times out there for fashion retailers - everyone is feeling the pinch. And according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, online retailer chickdowntown.com has defaulted on a $973,000 line of credit, and the website appears to be down.

However, a recent posting on the blog says that the site will be up and running in a few days, and all orders will be filled in a timely fashion.

Group Vote: Gwen's Coat

What do we think about Gwen's coat? I can't decide if it's brilliant or just horrid. Thoughts?

Friends and Family Sale at Silhouettes

Silhouettes has announced a great Friends and Family sale, beginning December 11 and running through December 14. Just enter code SFRIEND for 25% off your entire order.

Pink Fridays: Spalux Slipper

The Fuchsia Spalux Slipper by Foot Petals may not be the highest fashion item, but what they lack in style, they more than make up for in comfort. These are what you slip into when your feet have had a hard day in stilettos, or a hard night, for that matter. These are for after work, while sipping a cup of tea and relaxing.

Special Shopping Event for American Express Members at Marc Jacobs

If you happen to live in NYC and carry an AmEx card, you're set for a special event at the Marc Jacobs store in Soho.

On December 15, visit the store after regular shopping hours for a special event from 7 to 9 PM. Sip cocktails and enjoy desserts while you shop, and with qualifying purse or leather goods purchase of $500 or more, your item will be sent to Marc Jacobs for personalization with guaranteed return delivery by 12/24.

That would make an amazing gift.

Victoria Beckham Revamps Denim and Eyewear Line

Victoria Beckham has taken her struggling denim and eyewear line, brought them in-house, and released it yesterday on Net-a-Porter.com and a few select stores.

Here are a few things Ms. Beckham had to say about her lines:

On being a perfectionist:
“It’s about doing things gradually and building the brand in a strategic way. It’s about finding the right time, the right team. With everything that I do, I will only do it after I’ve done all my homework. I really am a perfectionist, and I don’t want to rush anything. It’s not just about putting my name on a product and getting it out there. That’s not what is important to me.”

On her biggest competition:
“I’m my competition. I want to do better next season than I did this season. And I’m sure the season after that I will want to beat myself again.”

On what helped shape her into the businesswoman she is today:
“I’ve always been driven. I was mentally and physically bullied when I was at school and that gave me a very thick skin...The only reason for me bringing that up is I have always been a fighter. I have always had to work very, very hard with everything I do. That is just my work ethic...That’s my DNA.

Trend Spotting: Turquoise is 2010's Color of the Year

Pantone, the experts of color, have declared happy-go-lucky turquoise to be 2010's color of the year, which means that you'll probably be seeing a great deal of it in the stores come spring.

I've always thought turquoise was a beachy color - reminiscent of Miami Vice, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of it. However, do be careful to avoid mixing it with hot pink or fuschia and sporting it in the form of some sort of nylon track suit. You will look too 80's fantastic, or just a big hot mess.
